RSEQ really did cancel its winter 2020-21 university sports season including basketball:

CIS just won't be able to conduct basketball among all other winter 2020-21 sports:

(At least this grants me time to catch up with the past couple of seasons and other news...)

Meanwhile at Simon Fraser, the schedule for the Burnaby-based GNAC school in Vancouver has yet to be finalized. Actually, there's serious doubt whether there really will be a season that's hanging by a thread for the Clan considering they're from Canada. D-Day is November 15 for D2 NCAA ball overall under these very abnormal circumstances. The Clan under Steve Hensen is certainly making the most of its required current 12 hours of team scrimmages; they're just happy to resume some semblance of playing and may serve as a contender in the GNAC being a "deep, varied, and skilled" SFU team coming into hopefully 2020-21. The Clan finished 16-13 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down (The Simon Fraser women's team fared a little better last season at 18-13 ending at the GNAC QFs). More will come later:

No Simon Fraser Clan basketball this upcoming season at all either for both the men and women as part of no winter sports program that was announced this past week. It has opted out of the GNAC basketball regular season this year as among the six conference schools deciding against it over COVID-19 concerns with only four schools--Alaska Fairbanks, Northwest Nazarene, Saint Martinís, and Seattle Pacific--plan to play basketball regular seasons. Not to mention border restrictions in SFU's case. May wind up playing 11 exhibition games including their old Canada West rivals:

Calgary radio station 660 AM interviews some Calgary Dinos athletes and coaches from various sports about how they are reacting and coping with the whole COVID saga taking away their sports. Included are Dan Vanhooren and Toby Adelodun from the Dinos men's basketball team:
