Yep, I didnt realize how much that would cost new York Knicks. Apparently, taking into account the affect of the luxury tax, that last year would have cost 50 million.

    Insane

Do you reckon being a public figure would make you hate people, or what?

You gotta wonder what's inside Morey's head. If the Bulls don't match (they shouldn't), it's $30mil for Lin and Asik in 2014-15. Rockets fans get ready for the cellar, and I'm not talking about wine...

LOL at the hate towards Lin. Aren't the Knicks two stars players that quit their previous teams?

No it isnt. The back-loaded contracts only apply to the team that needs to match, not the team making the offer.

... except when you consider that Linsanity added $600m to the value of the Knicks' parent company and the mere rumours that he would leave for Houston wiped $50m off that: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/...lundered-again

    Ah yes, forgot about that.

But it's still the same dollar figure, isn't it? So the Rockets would pay $8.3 mil a season for Asik whereas Bulls, if they match, pay 5-5-15?

Yup. 8.3m for Asik isn't bad though. Big and plays D. Aaron Gray got $4m for being able to do one of those.

The Knicks will never win a championship with Melo. Not with the Heat in the East and Stoudamire's contract.

The Rockets will be bad this season, but that is the plan.

Either get Dwight and go into full 'convince him to stay' mode or bottom out this season and get more picks / assets.

Morey is following the Boston Celtics model in how they developed young assets and flipped them for Garnett and Ray Allen.

Not a huge signing (although literally a huge signing), but that could be a team that suits him - he doesn't need to score and their starting already is only in for D. Or he could continue to be a spud.
If Thabeet is ever going to do anything, it might be with the Thunder as a back-up big. Nothing to lose at $885k.

I'm more excited about Perry Jones III and Hollis Thompson (all day).

Plus Eric Maynor is due back after injury.

    Westbrook / Sefolosha / KD / Ibaka / Perkins
    Maynor / Jackson / Harden / Cook / PJIII / Collison / Aldrich / (Thabeet) (Thompson)
    Westbrook | Harden | Durant | Ibaka

Looking forward to my lakers taking back the crown this year! Kobe showed against the boomers today why he is the best player since Jordan. He has a whole another gear that he goes to and no one can keep up. Adding Nash to the line up only makes us better and gives us a bigger gap to the next best team.
KINGS IN FINALS THIS YEAR BOOK IT!!!!!

I'm only responsible for half those, and 1 is no longer used.

According to all sources, Dwight Howard is a Laker, Iguodala is a Nugget, J-Rich and Bynum are 76ers and Afflalo, Harrington, Vujevic and 3 first round draft picks (possibly Harkless too) are Magic's.

Nets offer that was confirmed on the table in July:
Lopez, Humphries, Brooks, 4 unprotected 1st rounders

    Orlando received:
Afflalo, Harrington, Harkless, 3 protected 1st rounders

    What dafuq is Orlando doing?

The contracts are less. I think they are just going to bottom out, and rebuild OKC style.

Though, I can't for the life of me see how this competes on any level with the Houston or Cleveland offers.
