Yeah ... I've always liked that I have a small idea of who I'm responding to. If I'm on hoops & I'm having an ongoing debate with someone over there, Anon may or may not be the same anon. But the range of topics over there is far superior to here.
I miss Coaches Corner here because I had curly questions about rules answered here & there was rep talk that obviously interested me.

Spoke with Derek today, things are under way. Hoping to get it up and running properly for the start of the season, but we'll see what happens.
Will keep you posted, and Derek will be asking questions of users of other sections of the board, too. There will be a reasonable amount of consultation involved

What's the complaint with Reddit, the nonlinear nature of threads, or the lack of a feature to "follow threads", as in, get notifications of new posts?
There a bunch of features missing that are filled in with a browser mod called RES. If you haven't tried Reddit with RES enabled, it's a pretty huge difference in UI experience.
In saying that, for things like new post highlighting, you need a Reddit subscription which is $30US a year.
It did take me some time to get used to Reddit, and it definitely doesn't tend to be geared towards ongoing megathreads that last years. But personally, I'd much rather go with something that we know will be actively supported and enhanced, as opposed to more of the same, with a single point of failure (ie, that one person that the hosting bill is addressed to).
To close my point, I'm going to tag this post with a South Melbourne Dragons post icon.
